
Athlete Procedures
Welcome to the 2025 Duquesne Invitational, part of the Beaver County Tri Cup! We're thrilled to host you for two days of incredible multisport action on September 19th and 20th, 2025, at Brady's Run Park. Please read these procedures carefully to ensure a smooth and successful race experience.
Packet Pick-up & Course Preview
Your race packet is essential! It includes your:
Swim Caps
Timing Chips
Helmet sticker
Bike sticker
Packet Pick-up and Course Previews will be held on Friday, September 19th, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please note: Roads are not closed for preview. Preview at your own risk. This is your chance to get familiar with the course before race day!
Transition Area Information
To ensure a fair and organized transition, athletes should arrive at their assigned time with:
All necessary equipment ready to go.
Bike and helmet stickers securely in place.
You will be allowed to rack your bike at your assigned spot. Our officials will be on hand to review your equipment after you’ve set up your area.
Start Procedures: Your Race Day Begins Here!
We have an exciting lineup of races across two days. Please pay close attention to the specific start procedures for your event:
Friday, September 19th: Sprint Aquathlon
5:00 PM EDT Start: Athletes will be lined up in numerical order near the swim start.
Get ready for high energy! Our sound system manager will begin playing intro music.
Athletes will be introduced and select a spot on the start line.
Once all athletes are in place, the HeartBeat Music will begin to play for 10-15 seconds.
After the Heartbeat music stops (there should be complete silence), the Head Referee (or announcer) will call out “ON YOUR MARKS.”
Followed by a horn blast – and you're off!
Saturday, September 20th: Triathlon Events
For all Saturday races, athletes will gather at the designated start area for their wave.
Important for NCAA & Draft-Legal Cup Races: There is NO LAP OUT RULE for these events. This means all athletes must complete the full course distances.
Get ready for high energy! Our sound system manager will begin playing intro music.
Athletes will be introduced and select a spot on the start line.

Saturday Wave Start Times:
7:30 AM EDT: NCAA Female Draft-legal Sprint Distance Race
9:00 AM EDT: Draft-legal Cup Race Men (Ages 16 and older)
10:30 AM EDT: Draft-legal Cup Race Women (Ages 16 and older)
12:00 PM EDT: Age Group Adult Super Sprint (Non-drafting)
12:30 PM EDT: Youth Age Group (10 and under)

NCAA Female Draft-legal Sprint: Awards for the top three teams in each division (Division 1, 2, and 3), as well as overall winners and winners in each division.
Draft-legal Cup Races (Men & Women): Awards for the top three male and female collegiate athletes and teams. These races also offer the opportunity to earn points towards a pro card through USA Triathlon!
