Athlete Procedures

 

Welcome to the 2026 Duquesne University Invitational, part of the Beaver County Tri Cup: Presented by Jenny Lee Swirl Breads. Race day is Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Brady’s Run Park in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Please review these procedures carefully to help ensure a safe and successful race experience.

Packet Pick-up & Course Preview

Your race packet is essential! It includes your:

  1. Swim Caps

  2. Timing Chips

  3. Helmet sticker

  4. Bike sticker

Packet pickup and course previews will take place Friday, September 18, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Roads will not be closed during course previews. Preview at your own risk.

Late packet pickup will begin Saturday, September 19, at 5:30 AM.

Transition Area Information

To ensure a fair and organized transition, athletes should arrive at their assigned time with:

  • All necessary equipment ready to go.

  • Bike and helmet stickers securely in place.

You will be allowed to rack your bike at your assigned spot. Our officials will be on hand to review your equipment after you’ve set up your area.

Start Procedures: Your Race Day Begins Here!

We have an exciting lineup of races. Please pay close attention to the specific start procedures for your event:

Saturday, September 19, 2026: Triathlon Events

Athletes will gather at the designated start area for their assigned race or wave.

There is no lap-out rule for the NCAA Women’s and Draft-Legal Cup races. All athletes must complete the full course distances.

Athletes will be introduced and select a position on the starting line. After all athletes are in place, the heartbeat music will play for approximately 10–15 seconds. When the music stops, the head referee or announcer will call “ON YOUR MARKS,” followed by the starting horn.

Saturday Race Start Times:

  • 7:30 AM: NCAA Women’s Draft-Legal Sprint Distance Cup — Wave 1

  • 9:00 AM: NCAA Women’s Draft-Legal Sprint Distance Cup — Wave 2

  • 11:15 AM: Men’s Draft-Legal Cup and Men’s Collegiate Club Cup, ages 16+

  • 12:45 PM: Women’s Draft-Legal Cup and Women’s Collegiate Club Cup, ages 16+

  • 2:30 PM: Youth Race, ages 10 and under

  • 2:50 PM: Adult Super Sprint, ages 11+

Awards

NCAA Women’s Draft-Legal Sprint Distance Cup: Awards will be presented to the top three teams in each NCAA division—Divisions I, II, and III—as well as the overall winners in each division.

Men’s and Women’s Draft-Legal Cup and Collegiate Club Cup races: Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers overall and the top three male and female collegiate club athletes and teams. These races also offer athletes the opportunity to earn points toward a professional card through USA Triathlon.

The NCAA awards ceremony and Senior Recognition Event will begin at 10:30 AM. Awards for the Draft-Legal Open races will take place at approximately 2:00 PM.
